Object Graph

From LID Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

An Object Graph, in the LID and InfoGrid context, consists of nodes and (typically) directed edges.

The nodes are (first-class) LID Objects, accessible over the internet, with a unique global identifier. Given that LID is very REST-ful, the unique global identifier should always be a URL, or an identifier that can be mapped into a URL (such as an XRI).

The edges are relationships between the objects addressed by URLs. They are often represented using hyperlinks (in HTML) and similar conventions in other formats (e.g. in XML). They are obtained by parsing the content of the various responses from the LID URL (e.g. LID URLs contained in response to a friend-of-a-friend query).
