User-centric Digital Identity

From LID Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

A new approach to digital identity technology, also known by the names:

  • Identity 2.0
  • User-controlled Digital Identity
  • Independent Digital Identity

The basic premise of User-centric Digital Identity is that the user, whose identity it is, determines what kind of digital identity, and its characteristics, she would like to use.

Compare, for example, to company-centric digital identity, in which a company (such as an employer) determines what kind of digital identity, and its characteristics, an employee receives.
